Climate Change Capital Advisory Board Appointment of John Roberts, Leading Utilities Expert

John Roberts, who was Chief Executive of United Utilities plc for over five years until March 2006, has spent his working life in the management of Utility companies.  In 1992 he became Chief Executive of Manweb plc, having also previously served as the company’s Finance Director and Managing Director.  In 1996, John joined Hyder plc, initially as Chief Executive of South Wales Electricity and then as Chief Executive of Hyder Utilities. John is currently a Non-Executive Director of International Power plc and Volex plc. His previous positions also include President of the Electricity Association, Chairman of the Electricity Pension Trustee Limited, and Member of the Royal Commission on Environmental Protection.
