Climate Change Capital Carbon Fund to purchase 2.7 million CERs from Chinese Market

The Climate Change Capital Carbon Fund (C4F) has entered into an ERPA with Shenzhen Lisai Development to purchase at least 2.7 million CERs from their landfill gas project in Shenzhen, southern China. This is a very exciting project for all participants: it represents one of the biggest landfill gas projects done to date in China, and will be the first application of CPLG (compressed purified landfill gas) in the country.

Shenzhen is one of the largest and fastest growing cities in China, and the Shenzhen Xiaping landfill site handles approximately 25% of the city's municipal solid waste. The methane captured will be destroyed through a mixture of flaring, on-site power generation and use of the CPLG as a fuel in the Shenzhen vehicle fleet.
